Young Americans
David Bowie is the first artist on Music to My Years to be featured multiple times. If anyone deserves it, it's him. I can't say he'll be the only one but I'll try not to make it too much of a trend. Mixing it up is always good. I heard this song on the way to pick up a buddy on election day. We had plans to hang at another friend's place to watch the election results. Despite some disappointing results in state propositions in California, I must applaud the "Young Americans" for their role in bringing change to Washington.

Santa Monica
I grew up in a beach town (no, it wasn't Santa Monica) so I've always felt this song has hit close to home. It's an anthem of sorts for me. I remember days sitting in my ratty blue pickup parked at the point. The ocean is so therapeutic. Looking back, I could have spent more time on the beach. Someday, I'll leave the rat race of the city and settle in a home near the oceanside to "watch the world die".
